Can you have an exotic car delivered to you at Logan Airport?
Not to the curb, and not to your gate — and any company telling you otherwise is describing something Massport prohibits. In 2021 the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, in Massachusetts Port Authority v. Turo Inc. (SJC-13012, decided April 21, 2021), held that parties who "physically entered Logan Airport land to transact 'car rental business' without obtaining Massport's authorization or consent" — those actions, in the court's words, "constitute a trespass."
Turo, which had built a Logan pickup button into its own product and litigated the point to the state's highest court, now runs a permitted program at Logan and states on its own help page that prohibited pickup locations include "any non-permitted location, including curbside anywhere on airport property."
So what can you do? Quite a lot, actually — it just happens off airport property, and it's usually faster than the alternative. Here's the whole picture.
Why does this matter to you as a renter?
Because you're the one standing at the curb.
If a company promises terminal delivery and a Massport officer intervenes, your rental starts with a delay, a citation, or a relocation you didn't plan for. And because unauthorized commercial activity on airport land is what the SJC addressed directly, the company's problem quickly becomes your afternoon.
It also tells you something useful about the company. Four Boston-area companies currently advertise, in their own indexed words, that they will "meet you at your gate," "deliver directly to the terminal," "deliver to Logan terminals," or let you "skip the shared Rental Car Center." One of those is physically impossible as written — a gate is past security, and a non-ticketed employee cannot get there. A company that advertises what it cannot do is telling you how it handles the rest of its promises.
What happens if you just use the on-airport rental counters?
You go to the Rental Car Center, and you take the shuttle. Massport consolidated all on-airport rental brands into a single building at 15 Transportation Way, East Boston, MA 02128, reached by free On-Airport Shuttle routes 22, 33 or 55, which Massport says "generally run every 5 to 6 minutes" from the lower-level curb at each terminal.
It works. Bostonians also hate it with unusual consistency — one r/boston thread on the subject is titled around "the trauma of the rental car shuttle ordeal," and people routinely ask whether they can walk from Maverick station instead. The building is 1.2 million square feet with three levels per rental "family," and after a red-eye it is a genuine chore.
If you want an exotic specifically, Enterprise operates an Exotics counter at the Rental Car Center — but the selection is whatever a national chain happens to stock, not the curated fleet a dedicated Boston specialist keeps.
What are the legal ways to take delivery near Logan?
Three real options. In order of how well they work.
Option 1 — Off-airport delivery within Boston (what we do)
The handoff happens off Massport property, at an address you choose. Bluebell Exotics delivers free anywhere within 10 miles of our Revere location on rentals of a day or more, which covers every hotel in the Seaport, Back Bay and downtown, plus Cambridge, Somerville and Brookline. Logan itself sits about four miles from our Revere location, so the entire airport area is inside the free radius. If you'd rather collect the car yourself, self-pickup is at 650 Ocean Ave, Revere, MA — about six miles up the coast from the terminals, and inside the same free-delivery ring if you'd rather it came to you.
If you're flying in and don't have a hotel yet, there's a faster option: 239 Prescott St, East Boston — a short walk from the free Massport 88 shuttle, which runs continuously from every terminal. It's a street-level meeting point, not inside a Massport-controlled garage or rental facility, so the same rule applies: nothing happens on airport land. We use it for both pickup and return, so it works the same way at the end of your rental.
Practically: for a downtown hotel, you take a rideshare, taxi or the Blue Line from Logan — 10 to 20 minutes to most addresses — and the car is waiting when you get there. Landing without a hotel yet, the 88 shuttle to 239 Prescott St skips the rideshare step entirely. Either way, you skip the Rental Car Center, and nothing happens on airport land.

Two hotels are deliberately not on that list. The Hilton Boston Logan Airport and the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor are, in Massport's own words, "located on airport property." Delivering a rental car to either one means doing it on Massport land. Any company offering you "delivery to the airport Hilton" as a clever workaround has not read the rules.
Delivery to a hotel is always arranged with that hotel in advance — a driveway is private property too.
One clearance note if your car is tall: Logan's own garages run from 9'6" in the Central Parking Garage down to just 6'6" in the Terminal B Garage — a Rolls-Royce Cullinan or Lamborghini Urus does not fit under that. Worth knowing if you're ever driving one of those two back toward the terminals for any reason, since not every on-airport garage will take them.
Option 2 — Peer-to-peer, under Turo's own agreement
Turo now operates at Logan under an arrangement with Massport. Pickup is in designated Peer2Peer spaces on the ground level of the Economy Parking Garage, reached by shuttle Route 88 (the only 24-hour route), entering from Prescott Street. Hosts must fit an airport-issued transponder; enrollment costs $30. Parking in the designated P2P area is free.
Two things to understand about this. First, it exists because Turo negotiated a platform-specific agreement after losing in court — it does not extend to other companies. Second, it is genuinely convenient, and if you're renting through Turo it's the right way to do it. What you can't do is take a Turo curbside; Turo itself lists that as prohibited.
Option 3 — Take the on-airport counters
Covered above. Fine for a Camry. Not how you get a Huracán.
How do you actually get from your gate to your car?
The sequence that works, for a car delivered off-airport:
- Land and clear baggage. Delta is at Terminal A, JetBlue at Terminal C, international arrivals at Terminal E; American, United, Southwest, Alaska and Air Canada at Terminal B. (Assignments change — check before you fly.)
- Meeting us at 239 Prescott St? Take the free Massport 88 shuttle directly from your terminal — it runs continuously, and it's the fastest way to your car since there's no rideshare or taxi step at all.
- Delivered to a hotel instead? Go to the lower Arrivals level. Rideshare pickup is in the Central Parking Garage for Terminals A, C and E, and on Level 2 of the Terminal B Parking Garage for Terminal B. Taxi stands are curbside on Arrivals at all four terminals with dispatchers present. Massport charges rideshare a $5.50 per-trip fee each way as of July 2025, which your app passes through.
- Or take the Blue Line. Free shuttle routes 22, 33, 55, 66 and 88 all serve MBTA Airport Station.
- Meet the car at your address. Text on arrival; we time delivery to your actual landing, not your scheduled one.
Total, gate to driver's seat: usually 25 to 40 minutes to a downtown hotel — comparable to the Rental Car Center round trip, without the shuttle and without the counter.
